The Silent Supremacy
Market share grows, TVL dominates: true prosperity does not need to announce itself
In two thousand and twenty-three and two thousand and twenty-four, while other realms fought over narrative on social media and competed for headlines of strategic partnerships, Arbitrum simply was. TVL market share consistently above fifty percent of the entire L2 ecosystem. More than three billion dollars in total value locked at peak moments. Transaction volume rivaling entire L1 networks that had taken years to build their user base.
There was no aggressive marketing campaign to reach these numbers. No artificially generous incentive program to temporarily inflate TVL and create an illusion of adoption. There were builders building products users wanted to use, and users using them consistently. The virtuous cycle of genuine prosperity: use creates liquidity, liquidity attracts builders, builders create use. A flywheel that feeds itself without needing external capital injections.
Freyja did not need to announce the beauty of the Brísingamen. She simply wore it, and everyone could see for themselves. The most valuable necklace in the Nine Worlds needed no advertising campaign, no paid ambassadors, no narrative built by a PR agency. It needed existence. Genuine value needs no fabricated narrative. It is the narrative, visible to those who look with open eyes.
Projects that had launched on multiple chains simultaneously, seeking ecosystem diversification or liquidity incentives from different protocols, concentrated their primary liquidity in Arbitrum because that was where the real users were. Not where incentives were largest in that quarter. Where genuine activity was real. Liquidity follows real use, not temporary incentives. And real use followed Arbitrum.
But Vanaheim does not shout. It does not need to. True prosperity needs no announcement because it becomes evident with time, through the permanence other ecosystems do not achieve, through the ecosystem depth others do not build in cycles of speculation, through the simple and incontestable fact that when the speculative tide recedes and artificial incentives end, Vanaheim continues alive, active, and growing.
