Prologue: The God Who Arrived to Make a Joke
Dionysus observes the crypto world taking itself too seriously and decides to intervene
On the peaks where serious gods build kingdoms, there is always one who arrives late, with wine spilled on his robe and a laugh that echoes louder than any thunder. Not from carelessness. But because some truths fit only in the shape of a joke, and some revolutions are only possible for those unafraid of seeming ridiculous.
Dionysus is not the youngest of the gods by accident. He is the only one born of a mortal, son of Zeus and Semele, the only woman who asked to see the father of the gods in his full divine form and was consumed by the fire of revelation. Dionysus survived in his father's womb, sewn to Zeus's thigh until he completed his development. He was born from ecstasy and death simultaneously. That is why he knows both intimately.
In 2013, Odin already guarded Bitcoin’s blocks, while Thor was beginning to conceive Ethereum: its proposal would emerge that year, but its network would launch only in 2015. Around them, new projects arrived with grand promises. Dionysus watched their solemnity and decided the cosmos also needed to learn to laugh.
Dionysus observed the pantheon and asked the question no other god dared ask: what if value did not need to be serious to be real? What if trust could be built through collective laughter instead of consensus algorithms? What if the greatest revolution was not technical, but cultural, a change in how mortals relate to money, to technology, and to each other?
The answer came not in the form of a whitepaper. It came in the form of a dog. A Shiba Inu with wide eyes, Comic Sans font, broken grammar, and a permanent expression of surprise. And with this image, the most famous meme of the internet in 2013, Dionysus entered blockchain history not as a founder, but as a primordial force: the chaos that fertilizes, the joke that teaches, the ecstasy that unites.
The most serious joke the universe ever told is one you didn't realize was a joke.
