The Realm that Always Existed
Before Asgard forged laws, the giants already existed: Ymir governs mass
Before Asgard forged its laws, before Midgard learned to program the world, before even the first rune touched time, the giants already existed. Ymir, the primordial, slept in the abyss between fire and ice. From his body the earth itself was formed: from his flesh, the continents; from his blood, the seas; from his bones, the mountains; from his skull, the sky. The gods of Asgard did not create the world from nothing, they raised it upon a giant.
Jotunheim is not a realm of glory. It is a realm of substrate. The Jötnar, the giants, are the forces that exist before form. The cold that precedes order. The stone that precedes the building. The primordial chaos that makes all structure possible. Without Jotunheim, Midgard would have no ground upon which to exist.
This is the nature of giants: they do not rule. They sustain. They do not seek temples or worship. They seek function. And in the twenty-first century, when digital Midgard, Ethereum, Thor's world, began to crack under the weight of its own success, the spirit of Ymir stirred again. Because worlds that grow need foundations. And foundations are the work of giants.
Three mortals from India heard the call. Jaynti Kanani, architect of code. Sandeep Nailwal, builder of networks. Anurag Arjun, strategist of systems. In two thousand and seventeen, while the world had not yet perceived the problem forming in Midgard, they were already measuring the cracks in Thor's realm's walls.
Thus was born what would become digital Jotunheim. Not with thunder. With the silent patience of those who know that the real work begins before the problem becomes visible.
