Eighth Canto: The Layer 2 Ascension
After winning a charity auction in 2019, Justin Sun dines with Warren Buffett in January 2020
Sun won a charity auction in 2019 with a bid of about $4.57 million. He met Warren Buffett for dinner on 23 January 2020. Zeus sought attention alongside an investor known for criticizing Bitcoin. The conversation did not amount to Buffett endorsing cryptocurrencies.
Zeus laughed to see Sun at the Oracle of Omaha’s table. Buffett remained skeptical of cryptocurrencies afterward. The conversation had not converted him, but it had taken place. For Zeus, presence opened a door even when the other guest kept his convictions.
In early 2020, Sun’s strategy already combined technology, publicity and high-profile encounters. Other spectacles would come in later years. The dinner belongs to this moment: a founder taking his narrative to someone who did not share his convictions.
In Midgard, Thor followed Sun’s steps. Ethereum’s construction and TRON’s expansion followed different paths, but both depended on tools meeting people. Odin also watched from Asgard: Sun’s constant presence contrasted with Satoshi’s silence without erasing either realm’s work.
By late 2024, TRON's ecosystem had become something philosophers had theorized but engineers had thought impossible: a truly scalable blockchain where the constraints were not technological but economic. If you needed to process the world's commerce on blockchain, TRON could do it. Not theoretically. Practically.
Scalability is not a feature; it is the foundation of ubiquity.
