Canto IX: O Pai Esquecido
Ethereum floresceu enquanto Ethereum Classic permaneceu ignorado, uma lembrança incômoda da escolha não tomada.
The years passed. Ethereum flourished and conquered realms that ETC could never have imagined.
DeFi was born on Ethereum. Billions in value were locked in smart contracts. NFTs exploded on that chain. Real, functional, successful DAOs were built there. The currency reached the skies. Vitalik Buterin became the visionary prince that an entire generation of mortals revered.
And Ethereum Classic? It became what it had always been: Borr. The one no one wanted to remember. The ancestor whose existence was uncomfortable because it represented a choice most would have preferred never to have had to make.
New developers entering the cryptographic space practically never heard of Ethereum Classic as a legitimate option. They heard of it as a historical curiosity. As the side that 'lost'. Few understood that precisely by having 'lost', ETC had gained something ETH could not have: the purity of being only what it had promised to be. No rewriting of history. No exception to principle.
Borr watched in silence as his son Odin ruled Asgard, his grandson Thor expanded Midgard, and young Magni guarded the digital silver of his own domains. There was no resentment in that observation. He was too old for resentment. There was only the quiet resignation of one who believes that letting go is a form of love, and that truth needs no victory to be true.
Exatamente por ter perdido, Ethereum Classic havia ganho algo que Ethereum não podia ter: a pureza de ser apenas o que havia promessido ser.
