The Number
The absolute limit that not even the gods can alter
Everything born of man can be expanded by man. Realms expand territories. Banks expand currencies. Empires expand promises, but the invisible gold does not expand by will. It ends.
Since the first block, the limit was already inscribed. Not as announcement. Not as decree, but as destiny. Twenty-one million. Not rounded. Not symbolic at first glance: Not explained, simply fixed.
Mortals asked why. Economists sought logic. Programmers sought intention. Analysts sought pattern, but the Law did not answer. Nor did Odin explain. For not all divine decisions require justification. Some numbers are not chosen. They are revealed.
The number is not merely a limit. It is an impassable frontier. When the last fragment emerges, no other can be created. There will be no assembly to alter it. No king to decree it. No priest to negotiate it. Scarcity will be absolute.
The difference between the ancient and the eternal: the ancient depends on will. The eternal depends on the Law. The gods know the number, but they do not explain it. For mystery is also part of the structure.
