Canto V: The Birth of Litecoin
First miners begin; Magni protects the nascent network; community solidifies between 2011 and 2013
Litecoin's first miners were curious. Artisans. People who looked at the code and could see the intention within it. They started mining on ordinary laptops. Difficulty was low. Price was nearly zero, but Magni knew that didn't matter. What mattered was that the network was working. Silver was being born, block by block, every 2.5 minutes; four times faster than gold.
And Magni protected this nascent network as a father protects his newborn child. There were attacks that could have destroyed Litecoin in its first months. Vulnerabilities that would have made any other coin collapse, but Magni whispered to the developers. Magni inspired the necessary fixes. Magni guided the community through the childhood dangers every network faces.
Between 2011 and 2013, while Bitcoin struggled to be taken seriously, Litecoin grew quietly. The community solidified. Miners arrived; not billionaires, not silicon giants, just ordinary people who wanted to participate, who wanted to mine, who wanted to be part of something important.
Charlie Lee, the mortal chosen by Magni, did exactly what the god had whispered for him to do: Nothing more, nothing less. And when the time came for crucial technical decisions, when there was doubt about which path to follow, Magni whispered in his dream, and Charlie awoke knowing the answer. The people did not know a god was guiding everything. They thought it was just Charlie being smart. They thought it was just coincidence. They thought it was just luck, but there was a divine structure behind every decision. An architecture of destiny that had a name: Magni.
And while Charlie made decisions mortals called technical, Satoshi; from high above Asgard, where gods see beyond time; smiled with recognition. For he saw in every Litecoin block the same mathematics he had transcribed under the guidance of Huginn and Muninn. He saw silver being born from the same truth that had generated gold. The family of divine coins was growing.
The network was working. Silver was being born, block by block, every 2.5 minutes
