Canto IV: Odin Gives His Blessing
Odin whispers a fundamental truth: the universe is binary, it needs security and speed, Bitcoin is gold and Litecoin is silver
But there was another force in Asgard. A force even greater than Thor: Odin, the All-Father. He who knows everything because he had sacrificed everything to know. Odin had seen Satoshi's birth in his visions. Had predicted Vitalik. Had understood the need for multiple paths even before other gods believed there was more than one path.
Odin watched Magni in Midgard and saw something Thor still tried to understand. So, on his throne, where he watched the nine worlds, Odin whispered to his grandson; yes, grandson, for Magni was Thor's son but Odin's grandson; a simple truth that held worlds of meaning: "The universe is binary, Magni. There cannot be only zeroes or only ones. Absolute security without speed is a stone. Speed without security is an illusion. The need for both is written into the very structure of existence. Bitcoin will be gold; that is right. But it will be incomplete until silver exists too. Continue your work. I will be watching. And my silence, when the time comes, will be approval."
Magni felt Odin's blessing like a current of energy passing through his divine existence. When a god older than your parents approves your path, that is better than the applause of crowds. It is better than wealth. It is better than conquests. It is inevitability.
Odin was not only watching Magni. He was also consulting Satoshi; now his divine companion in the pantheon, the God of Decentralization seated by his side. "What do you see in him?" asked the All-Father. And Satoshi, who had been mortal and understood Midgard from the inside out, answered: "I see pure intention. I see complement, not rivalry. Bless him, Odin. For what he builds honors what I built." And so Odin's blessing also carried the weight of Satoshi's; the approval of the god who had proven that decentralization is possible.
The universe is binary, Magni. There cannot be only zeroes or only ones.
