Prologue: When Gold Was Too Heavy
Bitcoin emerges as a whisper; Magni awakens with a vision to complement it with silver
In 2011, the great work had been fulfilled. Satoshi Nakamoto, Odin's avatar, had completed his sacred mission and ascended to the divine pantheon, not as a mortal who abandons, but as a god who transcends. He had returned to Asgard glorified, now seated beside the All-Father as the God of Decentralization and Freedom, his eternal dominion over every line of code written with integrity, every mortal who chooses sovereignty. The flame he had kindled no longer needed his human form. It burned alone, powerful, incorruptible.
Bitcoin was not a whisper. It was foundation. It was the eternal gold of Asgard materialized in Midgard; block after block, hash after hash, from 2009 onward without stopping: Miners arrived, nodes multiplied. The network solidified like mountain stone. Odin watched from his throne with a creator's satisfaction. And Satoshi, now a full god, contemplated his work from his new celestial throne with the gaze of one who no longer needs to intervene; for he had built something that lived by itself.
But Thor saw what was missing. In 2011, Bitcoin targeted an average ten-minute block interval; individual payment confirmations had no fixed duration. Mining was moving from CPUs to GPUs. Commercial Bitcoin ASICs would only arrive in 2013. Magni sought another path for silver while the age of large machines still lay ahead.
It was October 2011. In Asgard, while Satoshi contemplated his completed work and Odin observed the nine realms in wise silence, Magni opened his divine eyes: Thor's son, odin's grandson. Heir to a lineage that knows no defeat. He saw what his father saw; and saw beyond. He saw that the monetary system of the nine realms needed two forces, not one. That there had always been gold to hold and silver to use. That the revolution begun by Satoshi would be more complete, more powerful, more just; if there were a worthy complement. And Magni decided, with the calm certainty of gods who know their purpose, that he would be the one to forge it.
Satoshi's work is complete. Now mine begins.
